Berwick City Cougars Baseball Club Inc.,
Cyril Molyneaux Reserve, Mansfield Street,
Berwick, Victoria.

The Club holds a significant profile in the community with modern, professional facilities and a "home" with a significant profile in the community.

The Berwick City Cougars is a club with a short but impressive history. Situated at Berwick in the City of Casey, the Club has its origins within our sister winter-competition club. Commencing in 1995 the summer Club has grown significantly. In the 1997/98 summer season the senior "1sts" team finished one game away from the Grand Final with the women's team winning the Premiership.

In season 1998/99 the Club won the Men's Division 5 Premiership and the under 12 Premiership, and the under 12 Premiership again in season 1999/2000. Many of our other senior and junior teams have topped their competition with finals and Grand Final appearances as well. Just as recent as last year our men's 1st side competed in and won the Division 4 Premiership.  The Cougars have been in 3 of the last four grand finals.

As a result, the Club moved up to Division 3 in season 2004/2005.The Club competes in the Victorian Baseball Association (VBA). Following on from our strong commitment to junior development, the Club also intends to further develop its Tee ball competition for six to ten year olds. This will provide the Club with the infrastructure to form a "beginning to end" relationship with players.

In season 1998/99, for the first time, a Club Coach was appointed to oversee the development of players; particularly juniors. One of the juniors from this program was recently selected by the VBA to play in it's under 12's friendship series against Japan, and later traveled to Queensland and New South Wales, representing Victoria.  Another first for the club is that we have our first Victorian State Representative.  One of our Under 14 players has been picked to play in the Australian Championships it be played Perth in January.

The Berwick City Cougars is the only summer baseball club in the City of Casey. Each season our ability to compete at a higher level in all grades is enhanced by new members coming to the Club, and the ongoing skill development of players both senior and junior.

1996 saw the "birth" of our home ground boasting unique clubroom facilities, and new senior and junior playing diamonds. The club is very proud of these facilities, and views it as a vote of confidence on behalf of the City of Casey to have received the necessary funding in light of the many competing demands and requests from the community.

Our ground abuts the Berwick Lodge school which is one of the newest in the City of Casey, and has many years to go to reach full capacity. The Dodgers have made the playing diamonds readily accessible to the school which uses the facility as a part of its sporting curriculum. Likewise, Berwick Primary School now also uses the ground and clubhouse to hold their annual Tee ball carnival (which the Cougars sponsor).
